shakyness

I have been taking Effexor xr for 7 months and am now weaning off very slowly.  I seem to be very shaky.  Has anyone else experienced this side effect from this drug?  Nana

First of all congratulations for getting off effexor - i was on it for about a year and it was Horrible, especially coming off of it. In fact, there was a class action lawsuit some years back stating that the withdrawal symptoms were very understated and that it was among the top 10 worse withdrawals among all know chemicals. However, that was really more realted to cold turkey, the way you are doing it is much better.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes - there are very weird side effects from withdrawal. I had one that I have never been able to put into words, but it was sort of like I would be fine and then all of a sudden the room would shake back and forth one time and I would get a wave of dizzines, shakes, and an "electric" senstation all over my body, almost like I was falling.

Hang in there and you will get through it it is normal and you will be much better off without it. I know that I am..
