should I continue seeing my psychologist?

Recently I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, but my friends keep telling me that I'm overreacting and there is nothing wrong with me and that I'm perfectly healthy…
They tell me I don't need a psychologist and that they are people with real mental illness who need treatment but can't afford it.. They make me feel guilty for going to a psychologist.
So I'm asking this should I continue seeing my psychologist or should I stop?

I would say continue.  If it makes you feel better and helps you then keep doing it!

Your friends are not very supportive! That is rather upsetting, they do not know what you need and how you feel inside of yourself. A psychiatrist is great especially for meidications. If you feel its too much you can always see a therapist who can also provide coping techniques etc. Both are very very helpful.

Trust your own mind, that is why you are seeing a doctor in the first place. Once your doctor feels you no longer need to be seen, then you can consider it.

Continue.  Your friends do not live in your head and they have no right to tell you there is nothing wrong, since they are not doctors.  Only your psychologist is the one who can say that you no longer need his help. - Blu

I say do what you feel is best for your own self. Others don't know how you feel on the inside so they don't have much of a say. If seeing a psychologist helps you cope with your anxiety and depression then keep going. Because at the end of the day it's all about you and your feeling not theirs.
Hope this helps!:)
