Hi.. I just want to ask if wearing eyeglasses can worsen my astigmatism? I have read that wearing glasses can weaken the eyes and that it would make the eyes dependent on it. is that true? I need help! I really need to be sure of this one.  I want to improve my eyesight.

Are you wearing prescription glasses?  If so.....your astigmatism is being accounted for in the lens.  If you're wearing non-prescription glasses bought at the drug store then I would investigate this further.  I've read that these do no harm, and I have an astigmatism.  I have worn the drug store magnifying glasses for reading since my late 40's....at 61 that's still all I need and nothing for distance.....so it appears they have not harmed my eyes.  If you're very concerned speak with an eye doctor as to what is best for your needs.  Hope this helps!
