Throwing out the Paxil was the best thing you ever did!  Just sayin'.  I think you should have your doctor check your hormonal situation, since you're reporting hot flashes, just to be sure.  But before you try medication, do try the CBT mentioned above, and learn relaxation techniques.  Medication will always be there if other things don't work.  Good luck.

Hi, I've had a lot of what you're experiencing, I've been to the ER five times, had a whole bunch of tests done, and I think the general crazy feeling is usually just from copious amounts of anxiety, stress and fear... I know I've been under the most stress I've ever had and I began to experience something called derealization/depersonalization, which is an EXTREMELY scary feeling, you feel like you're not real and you freak out, but I really think that enough stress and anxiety can make us feel like we're going crazy. I was scared of everything from brain infection, to MS, to schizophrenia, to cancer, to tumor etc etc, and a cyst was just discovered in my brain but even now I'm not freaking out because I know that many of my symptoms HAVE come from months of worrying every minute of every day about my health!

So my advice would be to make a doctor's appointment with a list of symptoms you're experiencing and highlight the major ones, and to also see a CBT to talk to about health anxiety because it really DOES take over your life if you let it like I did! So I know it's hard to believe but anxiety and stress and fear really CAN make you feel like you're going crazy, so try and get help, talk about your fears, and see how you feel in a few weeks -- BEST OF LUCK!!

1) You are NOT crazy.  2) Find a good psychiatrist and get counseling and meds if you need them from him.  3) RELAX.  - Blu

Are you on any medications that you might be having side effects from?  And could this be hormonal?

The GOOD news is, everything has checked out okay.  With fear based conditions like anxiety disorders and OCD, it's important to keep yourself focused on the FACTS, not the FEAR.  The FACTS are, you've had very thorough medical work-ups, and they've all been normal.  The FEAR is that these strange symptoms are scary and make you start "what iffing" about all kinds of awful things.

What kind of help have you sought out for the anxiety and OCD?  Any therapy?  Meds?  It may be that your treatment plan needs tweaked a bit, or, if you haven't been doing much to address these issues, it may be time to step it up a notch.  Please update us when you can, hang in there!
