thanks guys i'm starting to think this whole thing may be caused by my anxiety. i have the most intense attacks ever the first one i had was when i was watching a really gory movie and i thought i was really gonna die but since then i kind of sort of have them under control. i also learned recently in my psychology class that there are different types of anxiety
Yeah, had the car thing, too. Isn't this just a wonderful ailment? So much to talk about. I still get it, too. I just know now it isn't vertigo.
Good point! I've had panic attacks for so long, I had to cast my mind waaaay back and recalled that when mine first began, I also had a great deal of dizziness. Mine would happen a lot when I was driving on the freeway which was really spooky. I think it had something to do with the other cars passing so quickly on either side of me........I felt odd, like I was falling backwards. God, I haven't thought of that in years!
(Thanks for the memories!)
But I still get it pretty bad if I have a really intense panic attack.

Just to let you know, a feeling of vertigo is very common among us anxiety sufferers. When I first started getting anxiety attacks I felt dizzy a lot, especially when I went upstairs in a restaurant or mall. Like many of us here, I went to the ER a couple of times, was given antivert, but it wasn't vertigo, it was anxiety.
Don't be so hard on yourself, Toots! 99% of us have bad anxiety, just about everybody in the known universe is afraid of dying and it would be my guess that the percentage of "closet hypochondriacs" is much higher than reported. (Personally, that is a closet I am in and out of quite often! LOL)
So, you've been diagnosed with vertigo and even have meds that you take for it. But now you are experiencing a new sensation. (Did I understand correctly that it was AFTER this new sensation began that you had the CT and bloodwork done?)
I will assume yes, but correct me if I'm wrong, so we know your brain is OK and nothing showed up funky on your bloodwork. So, anytime we have a new symptom to an existing conditon, the best, smartest and safest thing to do is bring it to the attention of your doctor. None of us are doctors on this forum so we can only offer personal experiences and opinions. What you need is a definitive answer to why this is happening and ONLY your doctor is going to be able to tell you that.
My GUESS is that you may just need an adjustment in your meds, but a guess isn't going to help you and you must NEVER alter the dosage of any medication without the advice and consent of your doctor.
See your doctor and if he/she can't help you, it's time to ask to be referred to a specialist.
Please let us know how you're doing, OK?
Peace
