thanks for the post's bk I am going to give it a little more time as i am not as bad as i was when on effexor.i'm getting sleep being on the prozac not like when i was on effexor i felt crap all the time and just wanted off it. how long would you give it before trying to up the dose. someones posted on a question i put on earlier and they say the max dose they can take in the nertherlands is 200mg of prozac is that right i thought the max was either 60mg or 80mg. what do u mean by 'Effexor can be a little activating' nursegirl an do you mean its little to early to judge how i'm going to do on prozac? thanks jessica
I agree that you need to give this a bit more time. You've only been on the Effexor a brief time. My personal opinion is that people should exhaust ALL possibilities with ONE medication regimen (including dose increases if warranted) before considering starting all over with a new one.
Effexor can be a little activating, therefore it's a bit early to judge how you're going to do, that's probably the main reason you're having increased anxiety.
Try to hang in there!
I would give it another 2 weeks and if you feel no better, call your doctor and let him know this. It can take 4-6 weeks to get the full therapeutic effect of the medication. If you start to feel worse instead of better call your doctor before then. I took Prozac with excellent results but as we know....we all respond differently to these types of medications. If it's really concerning you, give your doctor a quick call..... if just to ease your mind. They are used to this and want to know how we're doing. Hope this helped and best wishes.
i don't like prozac gave me headaches :)
