will hysterectomy help my anxiety?

I never had a panic attack until right before I got married and was put on birth control . Since then I've only had them after miscarriage,  birth of son,  moving to another place,  birth of a daughter,  and more since I've had a tubal ligation. I pray and eventually they go away,  but I want them to go away forever!  I used to be so happy and worry free and now all I do is worry about my husband and kids and the future. I'm so tired of it. My Dr says I have Pcos bit something in e keeps telling me she is wrong. I'm getting 2nd opinion today .

I do not have diabetes . My Dr put me on metformin to control pcos symptoms. I was never tested for pcos, just told I have it because I was showing signs of menopause and too much testosterone. This is my complete meds and diagnosis .... zoloft 50mg anxiety,  levothyroxine .25mcg hypothyroidism,  and metformin 1500mg pcos.  Zoloft works 85% of the time. I just don't feel like my anxiety is mental . I feel like it only comes during hormonal changes. Like the first time I remember having one I was on BC for first time. Then I had them off and on and I stopped BC and got pregnant,  lost the baby and immediately got pregnant again. I had anxiety until  I started zoloft between my miscarriage and 2 pregnancy. Then after he was born I had it a little. Until he was like 3 months old. After that I don't remember any major ones until my 3rd pregnancy after I had her. Since she's been born in 2010, I developed hypothyroidism,  and supposedly pcos,  and I've had maybe 6 ones since she's been here. The last 3 I remember were trying to regulate my period with BC again ... trying to get off zoloft,  and this first period on metformin .

Are you checking your blood sugar on a regular basis? I see that you're on Metformin so you have diabetes. You have to make sure your blood sugar is'nt getting to low now that you've started this med.
I agree with he above posters about getting your hormones checked. If they're not in balance it might be causing your anxiety.

Thank y'all so much. I didn't get to go to Dr because I felt fine and then the next morning it all came back. So I have an appointment Monday. I just know this isn't how I want to spend the rest of my life,  never knowing when I'm going to have an episode. Its not fair to my husband or my children. Prayer and positive thinking helps,  and I'm content and grateful for my many blessings,  but when the episodes happen,  it feels like the fear is real and reality is fake. Its ridiculous!!

There is a class of psychiatrists who actually still practice medicine, and one of the first things they do is look for physiological causes before deciding it's a mental problem.  One of the first things they check for are hormonal imbalances, which is what you seem to have.  Sometimes practitioners of natural medicine, including docs who practice integrated medicine, are more attuned to this than allopathic docs.

Your story sounds similar to mine. Doctors kept telling me that I was just having panic attacks and brushed me off for a long time. Since having my daughter 9 months ago...all hell has broke loose with my mind and body. I have gone through every test available and been given the thumbs up...yet I am crippled with crazy symptoms and panic. Recently, a doctor suggested that I look into getting my hormones checked out. He said an imbalance may very well be the culprit. I will be doing that in the near future. I have already seen a GYN and had testing done with them, but it seems that it is related to an adrenal imbalance. The symptoms match perfectly. I am looking into natural remedies because I would rather not subject myself to any side effects...I already have enough symptoms and don't want to add to the list. I don't know if any of this is helpful to you, but thought it may be something you might want to look into. You never know, it could be simply fixed and your suffering would be over. Good luck.

I take zoloft 50 mg and it helps 90% of the time,  but I just got put on metformin,  and this is my first period with it and 2 days before is when my anxiety started. I have a great life. I love my husband he treats me great and we gave 2 beautiful kids and I am content when I'm normal,  but when I have these episodes I just want to run away.  I am so tired of this happening,  I just pray I will never have one again for the rest of my life. I also take levothyroxine

I'm glad to hear you're getting a second opinion. Your current Dr may very well be right with your diagnosis but it never hurts to get that second opinion.
There are treatments for PSOS, if that is what indeed you have. Getting a hysterectomy is a major operation and a Dr will only do the surgery if everything else has been tried first. I had the surgery myself and it did not take away my anxiety.
It sounds like you've had a lot of stress going on in your life. Are you in therapy? If not I highly recommend it. There are also medications to help with your anxiety.
