well overthinking will happen until you get your mind busy with other things, and tell yourself there is nothing wrong and do some home work on the issue your worried about. Get on the web look for vitamins you may be able to take to counter the sores and help you recover quicker. Sometimes these things happen for lack of something your body is not getting, and remember to slow down your thinking dont let this or anything else run you. i am dealing with a lot myself and find myself only getting a 1/4 of my stuff done becouse I am so scattered with my thought process, and for me its rough I was someone who always had everything under control, so much so people around me tell me they dont see the same person. Hang in there and slow down do some research and breath deep.
So use that logic to your advantage. When you start obsessing, tell yourself you know it isn't what you fear. I know it is hard (KNOW IT!! GRRR) but try to let it go when it enters your head. Tell yourself you know it isn't. Hopefully, it will help you let go.
Thanks for the help guys but really I've been tested for any form of herpes I got a blood test done a little bit ago and I don't have either form it's just my mom has cold sores so it's like the one thing I'm always scared of so I obses about it
Obsessive thinking happens a lot with anxiety. (I have had cold sores, it really isn't a big deal and you will be fine! :) ) Our logicall sides know that there isn't anything to worry about, but the emotional side go off running and we can hardly catch it. One thing my boss does with me when I am extremely anxious about something is play "what is the worse that can happen". Worse thing here is you may have to spend 15 $ on Abrieva if you want to treat a cold sore. Also, square breathing may help. Breathe in to the count of 4, hold for the count of 4, breathe out to the count of 4, hold for the count of 4. Repeat.
Hope this helps!
