xanax and seizure

i heard xanax can cause seizures.Im in the process of tapering off it with the help of klonopin.......should i worry about a siezure

      You will NOT, have a siezure as long as you taper slow, also it sounds like you  are in good hands in terms of a doc... I myself have a quack of a doc... And I was on two benzos... But I won't get into that... The reason your doctor put you on Klonopin for the taper is because, it is used routinely to help with benzo withdrawl.... It is also an Anti Convulsant, so no need to worry you will be fine.......  

                         So no you will not have a seizure................

            p.s.   How slow are you tapering? maximum speed of taper should be 10%
                                         per week......................

From my own personal experience I dropped my xanax by 3mgs. a day and had 2 seizures.  The drs. said that it was my full brain that seized which lead them to believe it was from the rapid slowing of xanax.  As long as you are tapering off with your drs. help, I wouldn't worry to much about it.  Also, the klonopin should help.  Just my own opinion of course.
