zoloft starter

hello I have been on Zoloft for 6 days feeling bad. I found I had more anxiety at night and the heartburn is bad felt like I was going to explode with heat. I know it takes 3-4 weeks so I'm trying to be patient. Does it get better anyone had to switch from the night to the morning?

thanks for that. I've begun to realize recently that the only way I seem to be able to "address" these issues is to realize that they cannot be "solved" they just have to be accepted to some degree... I'm in the middle of changing p docs and therapists because I don't believe they're helping me. I feel that I am a highly functioning individual for the most part, but I have a lot of "relapses," I guess you could say. I've always felt that the zoloft helped me to function... that is, go to work/school, accomplish things, etc., because I don't get as weighed down by the physical symptoms of exhaustion, fatigue, stomach aches, etc. I guess it also helps me to feel more control over my symptoms. Recently I've been put on Wellbutrin XL as well, and although I'm not sure exactly how it's working, I've heard that Wellbutrin makes zoloft work more effectively... you could ask your doctor about that and what he/she thinks. thanks for you support and I offer mine as well, these may be a rough couple weeks but you will even out eventually and figure out if these meds are for you.

Thanks for responding and I will get Mylanta currently taking Zantacs and it's not helping. I spoke with my doctor this morning and decided to take the Zoloft with breakfast. Well I was wired for about 4 hours haven't had that much energy in awhile. it finally stopped in the afternoon. I'm feeling better about this because I can take Bruspar this evening to help with sleep. I'm hoping that I start to feel like myself within the next couple of weeks because right now I feel so weird. Sounds like something that you have overcome with Zoloft so that gives me some reassurance. Also I was reading what you posted on childhood obsessions and how it has transcended into adulthood. All I can say that if this is what your therapist wants to address let him or her. Your 24 this issues need to be addressed. I come from a childhood of pleasing everyone, living with a critical parent and keeping quiet on molestation that my cousin did to me from ages 5 until about 10 whenever I visited my grandmother. Help!! at 37 I have had enough can't function right now been diagnosed with pd and depression. I have kids and a husband that need and depend on me. Before I can even start to heal I have to be honest to myself and everyone else for the first time in my life that I am not perfect, but dysfunctional and needing  to do some serious soul searching that I probably should have addressed at 24. I kept feeling the curtain coming down, but I would always say I don't have time. Now is the time unfortunately and I'm still wanting to hide, but I have a family so therefore owe them an obligation to heal. At 24 still dream and aspire to be who you are, but really take the time and make the comittment to get these issues addressed before it gets complicated. Sorry I didn't want this to be that long either..but it help me to unload. Thanks

hi there
i have been on a variety of meds before, and I started on zoloft as a child. then I went to paxil, neurontin, and now i'm back to zoloft/wellbutrin. I noticed that I had terrible heartburn for about a week after I started taking zoloft. I think that's fairly common. I also think that you have to sort of experiment with what time of day is better for you... some people have more luck in the morning, some at night. It works better for me at night. I would just give it a chance. And buy some Mylanta or something... it actually really helps. Hang in there!
