IGG DEFICIENCY

I went to an infectious disease doctor and had a lot of blood work.  Everything looked good except he said I had igg deficiency.  I had not heard of this, so I had no questions for him. He said I needed to go to the hospital and have a IV once a month for three months.  Then he said I needed to have my blood checked to see if my levels were back up.  I would only have to come back in if they were not up.  I read about it on the internet, and everything I saw said I would have to receive these IVs for the rest of my life.  Does anyone else have this problem or know about it? Will the 3 treatments boost my immune system and I may not have to have anymore or will this be something I will have to do from now on? I'm 60 years old, if this is important.

Thanks for the information.  I have the coconut oil on my counter now.  I tried it for a while, but didn't see any improvement.  Maybe I didn't give it enough time.  I'll try again.

The repeated treatment with antibiotics, has disturbed the balance of
your intestinal flora and very likely you have been suffering the effects of a systemic candida infection, which can affect any part of your body
and lead to the onset of serious disease processes.

An anti-fungal protocol with a strict anti-candida diet is recommended.
Just look up online for "saliva test for candida" which would easily indicate its presence in just minutes.

I would recommend you try coconut oil 2-3 tablespoons a day (the 1st week and add 1T week 2 - up to 7T daily is therapeutic dose, 4T daily is maintenance, a great anti-fungal agent which may work better than anti-fungal medications.). It is also antiviral, antiparasitic and antimicrobial.
Look up Oil Pulling with coconut oil for improving oral hygiene and health.
I have been doing this every morning for years using extra virgin organic coconut oil.
You will be very surprised with the results within a week!

Cheers!

I am being sent to a hospital to take this therapy.  I will go once a month for 3 months, and as I said, then I will have my IGG levels checked again.  He said depending on my results whether I will need to come back to him.  I have been through a lot in the last 5 years.  I have had 4 back surgeries, and went through several different pain medicines. I could not take them, and when they put me back on hydrocodone, I had awful withdrawals.  I developed panic attacks.  Then that changed to anxiety attacks.  After two years, I am slowly coming off the anxiety medication.  I feel like all this has contributed to my condition.  I may be wrong, but I know when everything changed with my body.  I  had  a UTI infections that I had to have repeated antibiotics before it would clear up.  I had 7 sinus infections in 12 months.  I don't know what this means, but I have awful reactions to antibiotics at this time.  After being given a strong antibiotic by a ENT doctor, I was sick for a month.  I felt like I had a virus.  My legs ached for two months. When I was given Cipro I was in bed for a week, again my legs hurt.  I have yeast in my mouth that I have had for 3 months.  They have tried 3 different medications, but it will not go away.  I know something is very wrong with my system, and I'm hoping this will be the answer. This is the reason I went to this doctor.

Hi Lene54.

If your body is unable to produce adequate amounts of IGg, then you probably need ongoing immunoglobin replacement therapy.

You must qualify for this therapy and here's where I made reference for the need of your doctor to be thorough.

All immune studies must be completed, as your treating doctor (ideally an immunologist) needs to verify your IGg levels are low AND that your body is unable to produce antibodies when infected or when vaccinated!
Dose is patient specific and should be monitored frequently and adjusted according to your clinical status.

Best wishes.

Thanks for your comments.  My doctor was very thorough.  The lab, that did my blood work, said he was the most thorough doctor that they dealt with.  I have to trust that he knows what he is doing, since I know nothing about this. I have been very sick for almost 2 years. I was hoping this was the answer to my condition. I truly hope it is only 3 treatments that I need.   I have a couple of friends that used him too.  He really helped them.

Hi lene54.

There's a few gaps in the IGg testing. The "normal"  lab range -which is only a statistical model- pertains to 95% of the healthy individuals which leaves the balance of another 5% (of healthy individuals) outside the lab range, showing either lower or higher IGg values. In other words, your below  range IGg result may not be necessarily indicative of an actual low IGg!
Also the individual IGg sub-classes can vary over time, thus a re-evaluation
should be considered within a few months, before a firm determination can be made, should one or more of the sub-classes be found low.

Make sure your doctor is thorough and not rush into hasty decisions, which may have life-long health implications.

There are some low IGg causative factors that should be considered, such as certain meds, physical stress, tobacco & alcohol use, aging etc.

First line of treatment is not IGg replacement, and most insurers will not cover the costs, unless it is well supported with documentation( by the treating doctor) that all other treatments were not successful and possibly
accompanied by a negative vaccine challenge response as well.

Best wishes.
