bradycardia and POTS!

so I had another almost black out episode today *not good* of course silly me rushed back to the er! Got all the same labs done all normal got some iv didn't really help. My heart went from 43 laying jumped to 112 standing. My bp laying was 111 over 43 then 120 over 60 standing. A while after when the bp cuff went off on itself my bp *laying* was 112 over 34. My head is spinninggg right now. The doctor in the er said the same thing my cardiologist said .. POTS and orthostatic intolorence and to drink tons of water and eat a lot of salt. I understand now that I have POTS but does anyone know what can be causing this *sinus bradycardia* my thyroid was tested along with other tests which were normal. The doc said that the fact that my heart goes from lowww to highhh is making me even more dizzy this really ***** and I just wanna feel better :(

Hello :) as for me I wasn't physically fit before pots.. I was pregnant and lazy! Haha well my resting heart rate before pots was in the 90s .. I know pretty high.. The day I left the hospital after giving birth my heart rate was 91 then a few days after that I started having the bradycardia then maybe 2more days after that I started having POTS. Yes it allll happened so suddenly! The dizziness has been super bad today :( my doc is starting me on florinef next week *dont know if I spelled it right* but hopefully it helps. I'm constantly dizzy and its sooo annoying! I'm just wondering what caused the sudden malfunction in my autonomic nervous system :/ anywho hope all is well and thanks for your post! :)

Hello :-)

Although my lying HR does not go as low as yours, mine is usually around 50-55.
When standing up it climbs to 125-130.
More than dizzy, I become SOB, and feel very heavy in my chest.
By BP readings are similar to yours.

I was told that because I was physically very active before POTS sidelined me, it could explained the sinus bradycardia while resting - or that I have a naturally low HR.

Do you know what was your resting HR before you had POTS?

Wishing you better days, and some abatement in your symptoms.

I am glad that you had a better day today :)
Actually for me, the last day and a half have been up and down. I had a black out last night.......I really hate that!   Got out of the shower, put towel around me and then it was going. going, gone!

I do know when I am going out and most of the time I have enough time lay on my back and put my feet up on the wall or whatever is near by.   Do you know when you are going out? versus just the "Almost syncope?"

Hope you have another GREAT day tomorrow.
Peace,
~Tonya

Oh I am so sorry that you had another attack.....YES! It does suck!
About the Brady issues.......Funny you mention that because i actually have both and did not know!  Is that even possible????  My Electro doc says Yes.....

In fact, a few of the times I went in thinking I was Tachy...I was actually Brady!
How does that happen???  And Yes on the dizziness....same thing here.
it's not like I have to deal with it enough having MS but then top it off w/ the NCS...Uggg!

How are you feeling / doing today?
