Does being on depo make you infertile?

I was on depo from March to October. Depo lasts, supposedly, 3 months in your body. I had received the first in March and the second in June and I didn't get any after that. I didn't have my period at all during March until the very end of September/beginning of October.. which is normally when I would get periods. I'm still recovering from the depo. My periods out of whack and my horomones are just everywhere. But the main point is; I just want to know if it made me infertile. I didn't have a period for about 8 months & it's just terrifying that the doctor screwed me over.

I was on the depo from the age of 16 to 19 nearly 20 years old. It took me awhile to get my period on schedule once I got off of it. It would vary from heavy for more than a week to just a few days once to twice a month. It wasn't until last June (currently 23) that it leveled out to once a month for 5-6 days. I'm not sure if it causes infertility, I haven't checked into that yet. But I and my partner have been trying for 5 months to get pregnant. He's prolly sterile tho.
