I have a prolactinoma of 6mm and I´ve been taken Dostinex by 3 months but I was very affected for side effects. Now I leave the treatment because affect my in my live, work, all.
Which is the consequence of letting the drug without any supplement?

There is parlodel - which also has side effects but it may or may not be worse for you. Depending on what country you live in, there may be other options.

Talk to your doc and/or pharmacist. It could be a matter of changing dose and or how or when you take it - such as with a meal, or at night with a snack to help?

Depending on the size of your lesion and symptoms, you may have to opt for surgery for control.

Hi-
If you stop taking the medicine your prolactinoma could grow and cause more problems. You might not be able to have children and could have other hormones, like thyroid, affected.

Options:
Can you try to take a smaller dose?
Can you take it at night, just before you go to bed so that you are sleeping when the worst side effects happen?
Have you tried Bromocriptine or Parlodel?

If you do stop taking it, TELL your doctor. Then they will make sure to do yearly MRI's and hormone tests to track the growth more closely. That way, if it grows you will know. Then you can decide if surgery or dealing with the side effects would be better for you.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
