I saw the ENT this morning and rumpled you were absolutely correct. He did the procedure in his office and gave me an saline rinse with a topical antibiotic to disolve in the saline bottle. It was amazing I could breathe better right away.
The things he removed shocked me.
Thanks again.
Thank you both. My appointment is Tuesday I'll let you know how it goes.
Often, just the antibiotics, sadly, will not work, so you need the ENT to scrape the giant things out of your head.
And yes, you cannot imagine that things that big are in there.
I did a lot of saline, even had to use a water-pik (doctor's orders, do not do this without doctor's orders) to get it high enough. It was,,, simply awful but it worked.
I got a sinus infection after my last surgery, about a year ago. I didn't have a high temperature but had a runny nose like you. I also had things coming out of my nose, like Rumpled.(That was funny)
I had to do two rounds of antibiotics and use saline rinses. In all, it did take a few months to fully recover. And yes I worked with my ENT during this. I hope that you feel better soon.
Thank you, It's good to know someone else has experienced something similar. I had an appointment for this week but the doctor rescheduled due to flu so I will see him next week. I am on antibiotics but will still see the ENT because I have the feeling that is is more than it seems on the surface.
Thanks again
Have you seen an ENT after the pituitary surgery? You could have an infection at the surgery site. I had one. This is not allergies - but infections. Usually is is accompanied by a terrible smell that one cannot get rid of. I did not have an elevated WBC or fever, but I had a bad infection and had to have a surgery to cut it back out.
What it can do is produce really large scabs as well, and that is why you may have difficulty breathing - so you need to work with a doc for debriding, infection control, and how to get moisture up there.
Ah - memories. I had things coming out my nose that were bigger than my thumb - my husband loved coming home to the daily update. Not.
