Looking for advice..
For the last three years since I had my first child, my health has gone down hill. I started having abnormal thyroid labs that I didn't follow through with for a while. I lost 25 pounds in about a year and my weight has been slowly getting lower for about two years. I have a hyperactive thyroid, but not hyperthyroidism. My doctor sent me to an endocrinologist a few weeks ago. The Endo said my thyroid didn't feel like there were any growths on it. She did some labs and a cortisol shot test to check my adrenals. My ACTH and cortisol levels were extremely low. My adrenals responded well, so we were able to rule that out. But, my Endo seemed to brush off the low cortisol and ACTH levels. My concern was a pituitary tumor. She said "if I was having periods I was fine". Even though I have every other symptom and lab result to point to a pituitary problem. I have weight loss, no appetite, constant headaches, low sex drive... I left the doctor feeling pretty helpless. Sure enough my period disappeared shortly after. I couldn't convince her to look into my pituitary so for now I'm trying to find someone that will.
Has anyone had similar experience? Or any advice!? Very frustrated.
