BI RADS

What are the chances of BI RADS 4 turn out to be benign? Hypoechoic, irregular boarder and mild shadowing. Measures 4mm x 3mm x 5mm

Hi again,
BIRADS category 4 means that the mass is just suspicious, but nothing more than that.
As I mentioned in your previous thread,a biopsy is recommended to check the suspicious area. There is a good chance that a  BIRADS score 4,will return  benign findings

P.S P.S. Please,do not start a new thread if you have any additional questions or comments. It would be better if you keep them on the same thread by using the space below the answer/s you have received. This helps to have all your information together so we can better help you.
Thank you.

Thanks Zouzi,
Yes, it went very smooth. The worst part was the injection to numb the area. Once past that, it was ok. The Dr and US tech were great at explaining every step. Wrapped with ace bandage and ice pack was sent on my way. Not too much pain or swelling and no bruising at this time. All in all it was waaaayyyyy better than I had imagined

I hope that your biopsy procedure went smoothly..The results of most breast biopsies could be available within a few days.(4 / 7 days)
Don't forget to apply ice packs on your breast every so often to minimize swelling and bruising.
We'll be waiting with you and hoping for the best  :)
Good Luck!!

Thanks NC,
I understand the statistics and I am trying to just stay busy and not worry about it to much. I am a natural worrier so this is extra tough. Plus, the Dr. already said it was NOT a lymph node or cyst. Just breathe huh...that's all I gotta do for now. right?

Hi, there,
Zouzi is very knowledgable and gave you a great answer, but I just wanted to add some statistics that might make you feel a little better: about 80% of biopsies end up with benign results. In the slim chance your biopsy doesn't come back benign, the measurements you've indicated are very small, so it would have been caught at a very early and highly treatable stage. I know that's easier said than done (we've all been there, believe me!) but try not to worry about the "what ifs". Just try to stay positive so you can deal with "what is". I'm wishing you benign results and hope you'll let us know after your biopsy how you're doing.
Wishing you all the best,
nc
