Discoloration

I had a mammogram done on Monday..and there was a small black and blue area on
my right breast..Today I received a letter stating that I need a follow up mammogram
because there seemed to be  a finding that warranted another one...Today
the black and blue mark has turned yellow..I was wondering would this bruise
show up on a mammogram as something unusual..It is on the right breast..the left
one seems fine.

There doesn't seem a lump or a bump where this discoloration is..
and when I talked to a nurse yesterday she mentioned the skin
folding over..and that this is a pretty common occurence.  Thank you
for your advice..and I will get back to you next week.

Hi,
If you have injured your breast causing a bruise, this might show up on the mammogram if the collection of blood has clotted forming a lump (Fat Necrosis).
If there is no lump, the bruise alone would not show up on your mammogram.
Being called back for a spot compression mammogram is not that unusual, often times it's just breast skin that has folded over on itself appearing like a shadow which will disappear on spot compression.
Hoping that your second mammogram will turn up just fine.
Sending you my best wishes...
