Thanks. That makes me feel much better. I appreciate your help. Have a great day
Hi I went through much the same thing recently I am not a Dr., and can't give medical adivice, but I can tell you what happened with me..
both my Mother and Grandmother had B/C, I went for my yearly mammo the end of August and got a call back, went back had two spot compressions followed by an ultrasound and was told to come back in three months, the having to go back is what frightened me so bad, even though I was told they suspected benign cyst.. to say I was terrified in an understatement, I went back December 5th and everything is fine...
I think they are extra careful when there is a strong family history, and looking back I should have been thankful they were being so careful with me, instead of making myself physically ill worrying..so my point is,if they are telling you to come back in six months it sounds more like a procedure they follow than a strong concern, but if you would feel more comfortable and less anxious getting a second opinion I think that is what you should do, but I really think they are just following up.
I personally would feel comfortable with the 6 month follow-up BUT if you aren't you could have the films evaluated by another Radiologist. I would never advise a patient against obtaining a second opinion. Do whatever makes you comfortable.
