Can radiologist "determine" outcome before pathology results are in

I had a core biopsy done yesterday.  The radiologist told me afterwards that it looks very worrisome and very suspicious.  She call me tomorrow afternoon with the results.  Now I'm really scared.

Hi,

Could you post us the report here? There are certain features seen on mammogram and ultrasound which help the radiologist in classifying a breast lesion as likely to be benign or malignant.

But nothing can be said for sure without a confirmed histopath lab diagnosis which would need a biopsy.

Consult a breast specialist on what needs to be done next?

What is your age? Have you noticed any abnormal features on breast self examination?

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us about the reports too.

Regards.

It would depend on what he actually saw, how he interpreted what e saw. He could certainly have an opinion based on those factors and his past experience in the field. Only the Pathology report will tell for sure though. He may however have prepared a slide and looked at it thru the microscope ... At least you won't have a long wait. I'm holding good thoughts for you.
