corebiopsy after mri and 2 stereotactic biopsies

I started this horrible train of events last august when I had microcalcifications on left breast.  I then had a stereotactic biopsy done and was told after waiting 3 weeks that the results were benign, so relieved.  Then in beginning of February had usual follow up mammogram and was called in for another stereotactic biopsy!  this time they insterted a metal clip, I should say that I an english and live in spain but I do speak enough spanish to get by but unfortunately the radiologist is not particularly communicative and just told me I would just have to wait for results again.  Then was called in for MRI scan and three days later for a ultra-sound guided core biopsy, when I was on the table the radiologist then proceeded to biopsy the other breast without saying a word.. When I informed her that it was the wrong breast she told me that the MRI had shown up 2 nodules on the right breast and that was why she was performing the biopsy.  Yet again I have been told I have to wait another 2 weeks for the results for both breasts now....cant think straight and cant seem to get any answers and have already decided that I must have breast cancer in both boobs.. 1 week has gone and I still havnt heard from Hospital, needless to say that my phone doesnt leave my side, even in the night I imagine I can hear it ringing!

Your experiences sound just awful and I really feel sorry that you had to go through all this. It does give us here in the U.S. some perpective when we start thinking waiting a few days for biopsy results is so terrible! Please try to stay positive and not stress too much---easier said than done, I know. Worry won't change anything and  you will just need to wait it out and take one day at a time. Definitely ask someone to translate for you if you need it. Coincidently, I was hospitalized in Spain for a severe gallbladder attack while on vacation there in '04 and I spoke no Spanish at all. The doctor spoke great English but the rest of the staff didn't. They did provide a translator for us, so please ask if you don't understand 100%. (My husband has since learned Spanish!)
Wishing you all the very best and hoping for benign results for you.
Hugs,
nc

That is quite a wait for results; much longer than here in the U.S. and that's too bad but I'm not sure what else you can do except wait and I know that is not easy. Everyone says that the wait is the WORST.
I'm not sure why you seem to think that you have BC in both breasts; your first biopsy shows benign microcalcifications. The clips are usually inserted for future reference to track the area and prevent the need for any additional investigation as well as marking the area if any further surgery is necessary. Until you receive the Pathology reports there really isn't any answer that can be given concerning the nodules that were biopsied recently. If there is a language barrier then I would advise you to find someone to take with you to aid in communications as understanding is VERY important.   Regards ....
