ultrasound

I'm 53  years old.My sister and my aunt have breast cancer.
I have a mammogram last week. Today I receive a letter from the hospital, telling that I have to do an ultrasound.
My doctor is not at the office today. So I call the hospital, they don t answer you anything and I have to think about all the weekend long. Why they are asking for additional imaging studies to complete the evaluation.

I understand you are worried, especially with your family history. Then, just being a woman, and over 50 alone is a risk.

But I do want to reassure you that it is very common to be called back for more diagnostic testing. That fact alone doesn't mean you have cancer at all.
And I know it's really disturbing.

The waiting is hard! take care, Katrin

..and let us know what happens, OK?

I'm so sorry that happened with a whole weekend looming ahead of you. Just get your ultrasound scheduled as soon as you can so you get your results quick too.

Try not to worry until you have a reason. Easier said than done, I know.

Best wishes & gentle hugs to you.

Well they had to see something that didnt look right. The same thing happened to me last month. The ultrasound will give them a better ideal of what they are looking at.

It might only be cysts,Fibroadenoma or something non-cancerous as mine was.
I am sorry you cant get in touch with anyone I know when that news comes
we want answers NOW!!!
Try to stay positive
Best Wishes
