breast cancer

I have edema in legs and feet, also debilitating weakness and fatigue. I have been taking Arimidex for 2 years, and all symptoms increase, including CHF. Are these symptoms Arimedex related?

I have visited my cardiologist after this post, and he increased Lasix from 20 to 40mg, and did suggest I see my oncologist about all symptoms. I have made an appointment to discuss these symptoms with my oncologist. Thank you for your input.

You need to be checked out as the way you are feeling
is no doubt unacceptable. I think there is very possibly a connection and I have found that oncologists do not know nearly everything about these side effects and also the pharmaceutical companied are not entirely honest about disclosing serious symptoms.

The best way to find out is of course to stop the Arimidex. It also gave me debilitating symptoms and I told my oncologist I was unable to tolerate any of the Aromatase Inhibitors, and which he trusted me about.

Do not wait until you are more sick, or even as sick as now before intervening the process with some doctor you trust, or one who can help you, or give you some guidance?  KAT

The fatigue you describe is a side effect of Arimidex but the edema is certainly related to your Congestive Heart Failure. I would suggest that you discuss your present condition with your Oncologist as well as seeking treatment from your Cardiologist for the CHF.  Regards ....
