I found this great article about Mammographc guided Biopsy which might be interesting for any having it done.

That was an excellent article. I had a steroeotatic core needle biopsy on my left breast on Friday. Because of the difficult location and small size of the calcifications, the MD was uncertain if he obtained an adequate tissue sample of the calcifications. We will not know this until my results come back in a few days. Obviously some of breast abnormalities can be difficult to locate even with the special mammography machine.
Excuse my ignorance - this is all new to me - can calcifications be cancerous?
Another good website - re calcifications.

Hi,
So sorry to hear that you are having these problems too. I couldn't help but feel connected to you when I read your posting. I too have a special needs child, and I work with Exceptional Education students. I know all too well what you must be going through on the homefront. I too am being followed for "suspicious findings" I have several solid lesions that are being monitored every three months, and also many micro calcs. The patterns of the micro calcs are what the docs watch. If they are scattered it is a better finding. If they start to group together in specific patterns, they get a little concerned. Mine have been multiplying and are starting to form a group now. The doctors, for whatever reason, still have not asked for clips to be placed, or an actual biopsy of the calcs. I did switch docs after the last mri, mammo, and ultrasound. I just didn't feel like I was getting the right treatment.
As far as your pain, I was having pain in my left breast that would wake me at night if I rolled over. The doctors said they thought it was an infection(bacterial) and gave me antibiotics. The pain went away. I hadn't had any invasive procedures done either. Also, there is always the possibility that your lymph nodes in your armpit area are sore and swollen due to an infection. I will pray for you, that this is all it is. Hang in there and keep us all posted.
I don't blame you changing drs - I would be a nervous wreck sort of knowing that something was happening in my breast but not knowing what - I am surprised they have not investigated further..
So when do you next see anyone about them?
