general question for those of you that have had chemo

Hi there. I have posted a few questions regarding my personal issues, but this is on another matter regarding my dad's girlfriend. She has lung cancer and is not doing well. The first round of chemo did not get the desired results, so the dr. has started her on a new chemo that is MUCH stronger. She has only had one treatment with the new chemo (about a week and a half ago) and within 48 hours she started getting sick. the dr. had given her plenty of meds to keep the nausea away, but they are not working. he has given her 3 different meds to help and non of it is working. She is vomiting 6-7 times a day. She only ways about 115 pounds to begin with and has lost 10 pounds since this stronger chemo was started. she is only able to eat maybe 1 piece of toast a day.

As part of treating the cancer more aggressively, she start radiation today. 5x a week for 3-6 weeks. The radiologist was so worried about how weak she was, that he gave her the radiation treatment and then sent her across the hall to the chemo room for IV fluids. She was there for 6 hours getting fluids.

Sooooooo, my question is, did any of you experience this and were you able to find anything to help decrease or eliminate the vomiting?

Thank you for your kind responses in advance~

Yes, that is an excellent resource! (Much better than just the usual list of side effects for each drug.)

Glad to see you back at work! You really are a 4**** performer!

Hi,
I am afraid I don't have a personal experience with Chemo side effects, but I found a link where many women have experienced sickness from Chemotherapy.
I hope that their comments can give you some more information.
Best wishes to all of you.
