Seems like the stuff is going to the other eye - sigh...
Well, both eyes are more similar now...
Maybe I'll try a 3 opinion (for free,if I met one here in my city) tomororrow morning
Linda , just saw your new BIG BABY, thanks for showing us him.
Yes, conjunctivitis is often referred to as pink eye. It is often caused by a viral infection that is contagious, but it is the underlying infection that is contagious, not conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis can also be caused by allergies or dry eye or other tear duct conditions that are not contagious.
If conjunctivitis is the same thing as Pink eye...which I believe it is...it certainly is contagious!
In medical terminology the suffix "itis" means inflamation. So conjunctivitis is literally an inflamation of the conjunctiva, which is the outer membrane of your eye, As such, conjunctivitis itself is neither a viral or bacterial infection and therefore is not contagious. However, conjunctivitis can result from any number of underlying infections. Whether or not that infection can be passed between humans and cats depends on the infection (if any) that resulted in the inflamation.
thank you both, I will read the stuff and also mail girls vet tomorrow( not that I think he knows about,but..)
I'm with Pip, Apple. Some said yes, some said no. If I were you, I'd wash my hands real good before touching food dishes or anything cat related :)
Apple, I don't think you can pass this on to your cats and vice versa. I googled this question for you and below is a link which explains why you most likely would NOT be contagious to the girls. Hope it helps. Hope you feel better, too. Here in the States, there's an over the counter med for pink eye which was more of a relief than a cure.

Heya;
Did a Google search and the info seems inconclusive about passing "pink eye" from humans to kitties.
I'd err of the safe side, plus consult my vet...
take care - Pip
