What do you think of metacam for cats?

I'm curious about what others have experienced with metacam.  I have read a lot about this medication and have found so many conflicting thoughts, emotions, and issues surrounding the medication.  I just ask because we are giving this to Daisy to help with pain and it is WORKING GREAT!  We give her 3 drops every third day.  I understand it can cause liver problems in cats and that it is not necessarily recommended for them.  But, in my situation, my cat is dying of Lymphoma and so to keep her comfortable until the time is right, our vet recommended it and we chose to do this for her.  Like I said, it works!  She's no longer struggling with pain, jumping on furniture again, walking great and jumps up in bed with me at night again.  Between that, the Prednisone and the Pro Gut, she is much better!

Pip:

Thank you so much for your kind words.  It really means a lot to me.  I agree that if more people treated animals with respect and gratitude for what they give to us, it would make a better world!  The Michael Vicks of this world are just cruel individuals and if they do not respect the life of an animal then they certainly do not respect any life.

For me, I sometimes prefer animals over people!  LOL!!!

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Janet

Good on you for finding a way to give Daisy some ease in her final months.

If only more folks were as caring towards our animals as you and the others on this forum, the Michael Vicks of the world wouldn't stand a chance.
