I just noticed my cat's lower lip to be a bit swollen. It does not have any puss, I touched it. Nor does it has any pimples over it...just faint lines. It does not look too swollen, thou. She eats properly and more than the time when I bought her a month back. She also licks herself normally. But then again today is the first day. Her lip is more colored or maybe I am being over protective. She is 11 months old and has not had a chance to mate yet, late bloomer, I guess. I rub her down there at times to see if she has any sensations which she does. First, she used to run off and dint come to me for 2 days but now she comes and hugs my hand after an hour or two. She does run away after fighting it off but first she just lays and waits it out for quite a time. She then goes to hide under the bed or sit on the floor and meows a bit. Really low meows as if moans or something uncertain. She only meows loudly when I tend to go to the bathroom and close the door to restrain her from following. She meows too loudly and cries, then. I love her a lot and I'd be more than obliged if someone could help me with this.
2. Watch the lip for further swelling. If it gets to a point where it looks raw and granular, it could be a eosinophilic granuloma, a "rodent ulcer." But it doesn't sound like it's much besides your imagination, now.
ps -- Please quit rubbing your kitty "down there." I would hide under the bed, too.
