Aspirin should never be given to a cat. Mine swallowed one and the Poison Control Center was called in to save her life. Every vet and vet surgeon has told me to lock up my aspirin like the poison it is for the kitties.
I picked up Ruby this afternoon, and I talked to the vet about aspirin. He doesn't want to start any yet because he wants to clear up a bad UTI, constipation, and ear problems before he considers it. She'll have to be on heart meds and high blood pressure meds for good. I asked him if he's ever given the product on the website you sent, he said no, but he's going to look into it before I come back to him in two weeks. Thank You for the information.
sorry to hear abt your kitty linda, many Vets do use a fraction of low dose baby aspirin to thin the blood of cardiomyopathy kitties thus preventing a clot forming...it also comes with side effects tho, ie stomach irritation and bleeding, also low platelet formation....so kitty would have to be monitored well.
On a holistic site I've read abt a natural thromblytic enzyme thats much safer to use, I will include the info, also a study if you read page 4 it will show the studies done on animals. talk to your Vet abt this option.
I wish I knew abt this when my Opus was suffering with heart problems...years ago
good luck to kitty:)
