My cat coughs all the time

I bought a purebred wedge Siamese from a breeder at the end of January when he was 16 weeks old. She is a very reputable breeder. She had him fixed for me before I got him and gave me all his vet records. He did get a mild cold after being neutered that he most likely picked from being at the clinic. She held him for an extra week to make sure nothing was wrong with him. He did still have a slight runny nose when I got him but it cleared up very quickly after I got him. I did notice that the cats she had in her home that were not in the cattery, coughed. When my boy does it, it sounds more like he's got mucus or phlegm in his throat. At first I thought it might have been a hairball so I started mixing some vaseline in with his food. But so far there's been no improvement. I was wondering if this is a common thing with Siamese cats or if there might be something wrong with my boy and the line he comes from? The breeder feeds her cats a ground up raw chicken and liver recipe and I have continued to do the same. There is also salmon oil, Taurine powder and NuVet powder mixed in with his food daily. Could the coughing be caused by the food? I do have another cat that I feed a grain free dry food to and I also mix in the salmon oil, Traurine and NuVet powders to her food. I tried mixing in some of the dry food with his normal food a couple times to see if he would take it because I wanted to switch him to that but he absolutely refuses to eat it.

I had moved to a new area a few months before I got him. My shedule was and is very busy because of my job so I haven't had a chance to find a good vet in my area yet. I use boneless skinless chicken breast for his food and always make sure there aren't any bones in the meat.

Hi...did you're Vet have no thoughts on the cough?..I would be very suspicious if all the cats at this cattery are coughing to me that would be a sign of something quite wrong. I doubt very much this is due to the diet, it sounds like you have him on an excellent diet. Are you grinding the chicken up with the bones? Just be cautious the bones are fine and not getting caught in his throat.
I would think he needs to see a Vet and have a good check over and some blood work done before this becomes worse.
