I was over at my mom's house last night and his hair is coming back and he isn't coughing anymore, but he after I started petting him around his face and neck he started sneezing ! My mom say's she thinks it's just allergies! What do you think ??

I would really like you to take this kitty to a Vet for a blood test to be sure and get a correct diagnosis...it can become really ill on you and not survive and for the safety of the other kitties as well....

hi and welcome, it is more likely a virus...calicivirus with upper respiratory disease..does she have a congested nose too or weepy eyes? I will send you a link for more info on this condition...read and see if it fits for her.
if this is the case it will spread to all the others kitties too...
it weakens the immune system and thus she can than be susceptible to other conditions or allergies which is probably why she has thinning of her coat..would your mom consider changing the diet? what brand is she feeding?
the best thing you can do for her and the other kitties immune system if this is the calicivirus or herpes virus is give them L-lysine, its not expensive, its avail thru your Vet or you can buy online purer and cheaper...500mg per day mixed in can food is the best.
