Great news, Sarah!
You know what? Having troubles with those furry balls really cause us to get attached one to each other more than we supposed would - or more than we should :-)
They really Know how much we care for them!
Loreena now do that belly massage stuff frequently - and sometimes she sleeps over my legs after. Yesterday she did it for a whole hour - the best cramp I ever had...
Its sooo good that we completly forget she do it using the same paws she uses to clean the litter box.
Well this must be "D- vaccine" ...I dont know how is called in English, here we say S- vaccine ( from "sujeira " = dirtyness)
Its a joke from doctors about the need children have to contact some dirty and germs to get a satisfactory development of immunitary system
I am so happy to read this, Sara. What a turnaround from just a week! Aw, Snickers knows Mama will make it better. You've done wonderful with the insulin, Sara. Hugs to you both!
That's such a good happening for you and Snickers!
My boy is starving to death so he thinks!! I have cut back on what he gets but he isnt happy about it. He will lose the weight he needs too just by jumping up on the counter everytime someone walks into the kitchen!!! lol His coat looks really good now, the drinking has slowed up along with the wet litter box. He loves to sit in the windowsill again.
Our relationship has grown much deeper thru all of this too. It is interesting as he has always been very sacred to me but all of a sudden he is the one who is very loving towards me now or more so than before. He is a very independant boy but he looks for his momma now~~
How is Snickers feeling this week, Sara?
Happy Dancing Cali style for You and snickers !! Whoo Hoo so Happy to read this Sara :))
HA! When I heard "happy dance, snickers style" I'm picturing some peanuts dancing around in caramel and chocolate. ROFL
Sara....been looking for info on weight loss for kitties, it has to be worked out in the amount of calories per day..will send you dr. Beckers article, it states on there "if your kitty is obese the maximum weight loss per month should be 1/2 lb.)...so that would be about 2 oz per week, thats probably what you heard!!!
I know what its like TMI all thrown at ya.....slow and easy wins the race!!

That is excellent news about Snickers, 1st the blood sugar controlled, then a little bit of weight loss...I think sustainable good health will follow.
Miss Kessie had a bad patch yesterday, but the vet is optimistic since it's been 2 weeks since the last real bad day, plus she seems much better today.
She feels the drinking will slow down with time now along with the litter box. I still have a list a mile long on things to watch. We are not out of the woods yet as we still have that mass but she is optimistic. I will be learning how to do his bs at the next visit in a month. I will ask about the weight loss opus. I know she said she wanted him to lose a couple ounces a week or i could of heard her wrong too as i was rather excited about the news!!
Stardust and I send hugs back to you.
glad for the news :-) Kisses
Im in a hurry now but look for the previous post about Snickers, I'm sure you will find helpful links there
hugs
Hi,
I was just able to log on after quite a while. I have a 13 year old diabetic kitty and do home testing. Did you learn how to take Snickers' blood glucose?
But wait a minute. I don't want to be a come down, but what about Snickers returning behavior of sitting next to his water along with the wet litterbox you mentioned just yesterday on your other thread? Did you bring up this concern with your vet, Sara?
Thank God!!!!
I am so relieved!
Yayyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoo Hoo!!!!! Awesome news, Sara! I was kind of waiting for your post - now I can go back to my heating pad. :)
Big Hug from Jade and I!!!
YAHOOOOO for you both, super news Sara...
but just gotta say dear, I'm no Vet but 1-2lb weight loss in a month??? I really question this, way toooo much for a cat. what does Snickers weigh? even if he's 20lbs that would be a 5-10% reduction, thats quite drastic IMO..
just happy all is going well, don't blame him for ambushing the dogs after being poked and prodded all morning....-) Hugs back to you both too...
