How are the kids feeling???
Lucy had horrible diarrhea this weekend. It's like she is scared of it so she runs- as she runs. OMG
Tile, concrete, 3 comforters, a rug, a pillow and my new mattress later- it seems to have stopped. At least she only hit things that can be cleaned- except for my mattress- the pillow was a total loss...
I did learn a few things- when you wash the sheet and mattress cover- toss a comforter over the bare mattress- it saves heartache and gross out later.
They ate the rest of my rotisserie chicken last night. There were bones in their water bowl this am and I found another chicken leg half eaten under the bed. They all have diarrhea. Im not giving them anything for it. Just has to run its course. Elmo is feeling better but stinky again! Never a dull moment with 6 kitties! Its a lot of work! LOL I love them all!
Hoping Elmo get better soon - fingers crossed for it.
Is our baby a teen visiting "not suitable" ( for cats) places now? :-)
Nothing to add here honey, just sending my support. From the description of the trash incident, it sounds like whatever Elmo ate, it is running it's course. Maybe start him on some Pedialyte and a dropper or two of extra wet food to be on the safe side from all the diarrhea and vomiting. Of course you'll take him to the vet this weekend if he doesn't improve, but fingers crossed!!
I guess I DID have something to add after all. :)
I agree, loperamide or pepto aren't safe for cats, they both have aspirin derivative that can be toxic.
can you try a small amount of psyillium as metamucil without the sugar? smelly diarrhea can be an indication of colitis or IBD....may also be very useful to use a probiotic like Primal Defense....this is for good bowel flora, comes in a powder and just sprinkle a small amount on his food....hope no Vet visit is needed...:(

Cats are very sensitive to drugs and I wouldn't give them anything that isn't prescribed or recommended by your vet. After two or more days of diarrhea, your cat really needs to see a vet to determine the cause. That's what I would do. Hope this helps!
