Hi everyone, just updating you guys on Lady's status as of now on her condition. As some of you remember, Lady BaBa approx 8 months old was preggo. Today Wed, 6 was her appt to have her surgical abortion as they call it. I dropped her off at 9am. I think she knew what was going on because she gave me no trouble, she was calm and wanting attn. The vet saw her and said she was very pregnant. Either half way or almost done.
I asked all the right questions and spoke my concerns. I had dr talking me through what was going to be done etc. I picked her up around 5pm and though it was hard to find out how many she was carrying I found myself asking. I was told she was halfway through the pregnancy with 4 fetus ;( We saw the vet when they gave her back to us and she told us what happened. Then, Lady started bleeding. Vet said it was normal, they had taken her back to clean her up. They brought her back to me to lay her down on the carrier when she begins to bleed again. Once again they took her back and cleaned her up, wrapped her body to cover the stitches and to provide pressure to stop the bleeding.
The vet requested that I bring her back tomorrow just to make sure she's not bleeding anymore and follow up. Then again in 7 days to remove the stitches. As of right now, she's just laying in my blanket since I am trying to keep her warm and comfort her. Her next dose of pain meds and antibiotics are tomorrow morning. I read that the anesthesia makes their body's cold, so I am gently rubbing her to give her body heat so she warms up. She's been moving around and crying which is scary for me to hear since Lady isnt one to cry. I'm going to stay up as much as I can handle to keep an eye out throughout the night. I will update you guys on how she is doing. Hopefully she recovers fast so she can return to being the fatty eater she is ; )
