Loreena is eating less last 2 weeks

Girl do not seems to be sick,I mean, she was a lot stressed dont know exactly why for 3 days, but all the rest seems to be fine
Didnt check the temperature - you all can imagine why :-) but poo,pee are ok,she's drinking ...
Just ***** and acting like a kid, just grabbing a few portion each time...choosing ...waiting something different ( and I resisting for not give her -or that will never be solved)
Her boyfriend was around again. That partially explains she leaving but she used to come back home even more starving after...
Im afraid she's eating bad stuff somewhere, dogs food or animals.
Just met a bird dead at my backyard, can be a bird that died naturally, killed by another cat or by her - hope no!
Do you think she can be sick? Or just "spoiled"?

In fact, I dont have THE thermometer , I have A thermometer  - the ordinary mercury one we use for humanes ( not the one i use myself, but just the same kind of)
The one I wanted was a digital one with flexible tip that I just met at the drugstore ( one they say is for babies, came in rose or pink colours :-) but this is too much expensive for my budget right now (2O reais - a simple parasite test costs 15, just for you to have a notion)
Loreenas nowadays vet one's is not flexible tip also and he said this is not necessary - and I agree, cos he has a helper and/or the owner of the animal near - a lot of hands available...
I'm not much worried about that yet, lets wait a little bit more.Cousin saw her yesterday,I still could not talk with her to ask if she thinks Loren lost some weight -maybe Im not very good with measures...

Shoot, sorry to hear this.  She MUST be eating elsewhere since she seems okay otherwise and I'm sure you would be able to tell if she were losing weight.  You have your own thermometer, huh.  How handy and a great idea.  Where did you get it?  As long as Loreena doesn't seem lethargic, you can only suppose she's IS eating, but where, is a mystery for now.

I know how worried you must be - I would be too.  Good luck with the thermometer and keep us updated.

Nope - and she ate even less yesterday cos I was not home to offer her all day long and she was not so hungry by the hour I arrived ( relatively early,7pm)
Cant say about behaviour yesterday but she keeps ative and  she was alterning fast rest in the sun with sudden runs as she always do after lunch a few minutes ago.
No one did bad poo,not that I had seen. Not in the litters,at least.
For some minutes she was in a perfect position to use a termometer but I'm sure it wont last time enough and not  I even tried.

Hey Apple!  Wondering if Loreena's appetite has improved?

Jade lost her collar for the very first time a few days ago.  I go outside in the morning to see her and notice immediately her collar is missing.  I found it quickly right beside the cat hole in our fence.  Thankful for *Safety* collars! :)  When we first bought it, it wouldn't unsnap easily so my husband filed down the interlocking piece.

Yes she does - but I dont think such small noise will work as a warning for a bird, its just useful for me knowing when she is coming...
Lucky has one as well, Joy not yet.Her collar cames without one and depending on the way we put they home they just fall.I dont care cos they are inside.
In fact is a miracle they still have collars, playing the way they do... :-)
Loreena's one is lot worn out,I promised her a new one at Christmas - hope I could  find another orange, I liked that...

I bet it's the change into Spring, Apple.  I wasn't sure what your season was right now in Brazil, but Jade's appetite changes when we go into Spring (March, here) then even more at the start of Summer.  I bet it's simple as that! :)

Does Loreena have a bell on her collar?  Jade has a bell.  She hasn't caught a bird (not that I've seen anyway) since that first time 4yrs ago.  Either it's the bell doing it's job or Jade is not so interested in catching birds since she is getting older.

Mouth, tongue and teeth seems the same for me.I use to look there always, its a quite fast sight but she accepts :-)

Jade,I'm not exactly worried about her starving - maybe about  some poor " flying food " that happens to pass by...

Its almost springtime ( maybe thats the reason...) here and the temperature varies from day to day - and even many times a day.Is not very hot, however

What is the temperature there?  I know my cats have been eating less because it is so hot and humid.  I don't remember it being this miserable every summer, but I guess it is.

Hmm...it does sound like Loreena is eating elsewhere.  With boyfriend around, he might be leading her to other food as well as contributing to her odd behavior just by his presence.  Another thought...can you get a look inside her mouth - check her teeth and gums to make sure nothing looks unusual.  Maybe her teeth are hurting or she has a sore?  That's all I can think of for now.  Jade will only lick the sauce if she's trying to tell me she is tired of a certain flavor of meat or her appetite is down.

Try not to worry about next Wed.  Put extra out for Loreena Tues night and hope she eats it all.  Just one day won't hurt especially since we aren't even sure she's not eating somewhere else.

Keep us posted.  Maybe someone else will have another idea :)

She didnt eat all the Whiskas sachet last time I gave her - this was weird. It was mixed with the feed, as usual. She was more interested in licking the sauce.

Hope I'm not the responsible for cos we had been playing hunting a toy mouse this last weeks.
She got a cute one as a gift from the Zoopharma guy at her birthday, she never liked toys very much but now she likes to spend some minutes at night doing that, before playing real fight with the kids :-)

I'm just worried she probably  would not eat all day long next wednesday when I 'll be outside home again.Cousin cannot be there all the time just waiting for...just moms do those...
Well, if she got tired of the food, at least it wont be wasted - kids are crazy about that !!

Apple, Jade just went through a period of not wanting to eat, but didn't appear to be ill.  I think she got tired of this certain flavor of food we were feeding her.  Is not her favorite, but husband made an error and bought a bunch of it, so was all we had.  She would nibble and consume half her normal daily meal.  Made me worried.  Her appetite returned a week ago - as if nothing were ever wrong - I think because new shopping trip brought more of the flavors she likes :)

Maybe boyfriend is wooing her with special mice and bird meals, haha.  My husband thought Jade might be eating elsewhere, but why would that suddenly stop which is why I don't that was the issue.

Maybe our girls ate something that didn't agree with them which brought their appetites down.  All I can imagine.  Good to hear dead bird was intact.  Jade caught a bird and ate it shortly after moving in next door.  Owners were forgetting to feed her.  I think this is how she caught crytococaucus (sp?) which is a fungas cats can get from bird droppings...or eating a bird, maybe.

I think as long as Loreena's eating *some*, drinking, peeing and poo looks normal - just wait it out.  I'm voting for spoiled...like Jade :)
