senior cat sick after enema at vet

My 18 yr old cat became constipated yesterday. This has happened once before. We took her to the vet, where she received and enema. when we brought her back home she drank a little water, but this morning will not eat or drink..basically won't do ANYTHING. the enema did not work..taking her back this morning, but i'm ssoo worried about this. could the enema have made things worse? any advice is very much appreciated!!!

Good point for regular constipation relief d/t hairballs but NOT when there is a suspected blockage.....than a Vet is needed asap

I would put coconut oil and a bit of Vaseline on bottom of paws, my vet said this was a great and safe idea , helps with hairballs, and constipation on regular basis, she will instinctively start licking these off of her paws, and end up digesting it....(over a twenty minute period or so)...and help relieve her constipation...just keep water available because after the licking she will probably go for a drink..good luck

since the enema did not work your kitty is feeling very uncomfortable right now, I am glad she is going BACK to see this Vet asap....there could be a bowel blockage, did they do an xray before the enema? I have one that needs an occasional enema and my Vet INSISTS on xrays each time before just incase
good luck to kitty, let us know okay:((

I don't think an enema would make things worse.  Something serious might be going on that an enema could not fix.
