Hi, I'm new here and thought I'd introduce my 3 old cats. they do have to put up with a big dog,Husky X Australian Shepherd X Alaska malamute mix , but they're the boss.
I do have pics of them.
Simba, 13yr, is an orange tabby male. He was bony and starving when I found him in the woods in '97. He is the most clumsy cat I've met. He's always falling out of a window sill or sliding sideways on the wood floor. He also likes to TRY to hunt through the T.V. or through glass. needless to say this doesn't work out to well. for the last year he has been an indoor only cat, so I could control his weight. he was 20lbs, now 11lbs. he loves to lay on his back and have his tummy rubbed. he'll lick the air if I scratch him between his shoulder blades. Most of his molars have been removed due to rotten teeth. I think another is going rotten his breathe stinks, but he wouldn't let me look.
Katie, 15yr, is an Egyptian Mau x Siamese. I found her in '95. She had many parasites; one of which prevented her from eating. She's very smart, graceful, and loyal cat. When she was little, if she did something not graceful she would stop what she was doing and repeat the ungraceful act until it was done gracefully.
Tiger, 20yr this last Nov, is a tortoiseshell. I found her in 1988 in our firewood pile that was covered in snow. She was the only surviving member of her litter. She's the runt. She had 1/2 an eye open. she was the size of the palm of my hand. I bottle fed and bathed Tiger when she was a kitten. I've had to start giving her baths again, but with a warm damp cloth. She now drools when she purrs, so I keep a rag around. she's usually a sweat cat, but cats get cranky when they age (just like people). when she's not sleeping she acts like a 6 month old kitten. I know she's a cat, but she like a daughter to me.
Suzy died last spring at the ripe old age of 17 years. I was with her when she died from multiple seizure that also took her sight. RIP Suzy. Her nick name was purr brain because she she was always purring even when she was on deaths doorstep. When she was 2 yrs, I noticed her falling out of a tree over and over again for 3 months. Then one day she came to the door and knocked. She had a hummingbird in her mouth. after she showed her prize, she took it to eat. She must of decided humming birds weren't worth it. that was the 1st and last humming bird she hunted.
