NEMO update
hi everyone, the Nemo saga continues. he is refusing to eat ANYTHING the Vet has given him for his struvite crystals.....I have to keep him on his regular diet of EVO dry or he'll starve himself and create other problems.
I am giving him syringe fluids to keep him hydrated and flush his bladder however without the correct diet he'll just keep reforming these darn crystals.
QUESTION: has anyone every used or have any comments on a product I found at the pet store called
BLADDER SUPPORT made by NaturVet?
ingredients are DL-Methionine a deacidifier, echinacea, cranberry concentrate, ascorbic acid and oregon grape root....my Vet isn't in favor of anything that will help deacidify because he says that will only cause the urine to become alkaline and a different type of crystal will form (oxate) but I am desperate and ask if anyone has any suggestions?

Oh Nemo....he is being stubborn. Well, he is a cat..I give him that :)
I wish I knew what to tell you. I haven't really faced this problem. But I'm here for support and to just let you know I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will resolve rather soon.

I haven't heard of that supplement. But, I do agree w/ some of the others that you should give him something to acidify the urine. I really think you should get another opinion-even though you like your vet a lot. When it comes to our kids....we gotta do what we gotta do!
I am sorry to hear that Nemo is being so dam bull-headed w/ his food. =( I can imagine how much that is stressing ya out! I AM happy that he is, at least, letting you give him some extra water. VERY important since all he is eating is EVO dry. Is there ANY possible way that you can get him to try some quality soft food? I honestly think that a wet food will do wonders in preventing these crystals.
