Question?

What does it mean when a perfectly healthy cat takes poop, old poop outside the litter box? I do forget to scoop it sometimes. When I spend a whole day without scooping it, Abby takes old poop and dumps it on the floor. How can he do such a nasty act? I have seriously talked to him but he will not use his automatic litter box. Dillan is the only one who uses it. So, yes, my cats have two litter boxes, one is, and the other one isn't automatic. Abby refuses to comprehend technology. Dillan goes for it. Abby is almost 2 y.o. His stools are formed and look perfectly fine. Vet says he has a good weight and excellent health. He is stressed all the time tho, because Dillan is very rambunctious and ends up upsetting Abby. Abby just growls at him whenever Dillan approaches. It used to not be this way. But I believe Abby is teaching Dillan some boundaries. I may be wrong. I do see the following:

If Abby eats a new food, Dillan will eat it too..but only after Abby has taken the first bite....(Learning?)
If Abby goes somewhere 'new' in the house, Dillan goes to check it out afterwards, but only afterwards.

It's kind of like monkey see, monkey do.  I think the situation here is behavioral. But I'd love to hear your opinion. Why is Abby taking a perfectly covered butt piece out of the litter box and dropping it on the floor? The stool has litter all over. Is my cat mad at me?

That's what I thought...but confirmation and reassurance is always good :) Thanks for your kind comments, LTM.  Poop and Scoop, huh, haha, that's a good one. The thing is, they poop while we're asleep, haha. A'right so Patches was doing the same thing. I have had many, many cats before, but you know how it is, no two cats are the same :)

I dont think its anything bad. Abby just wants a clean liter box 24/7. I guess Abby doesnt want to feel uncomfy using the box knowing theres a chance of stepping over old poop. My cat Patches seems to do the same thing....well before. I would find poop behind the box where he would get it out and then use the box. That was before I was scooping it right after they were going poopie.

Now, as soon as they go poop, I scoop it out. Poop and scoop I say! : ) And I havent seen that problem with Patches and his bro Scotches since then. So I figured it might have been that
