cat behavior

We have 2 females from the same litter. they have been with us for 4 years. They were 1 yr old rescued ferral cats when we adopted them. They get along very well- will play together occasionally, and otherwise mind their own business.

Today one of them had some teeth extracted because of congenital gingivitis. She was at the vet for about 10 hours. Ever since she returned, they have been hissing at each other. The only time we have ever heard them hiss at each other is on the very few occasions where their play got out of hand. should we just ignore it? why could this be happening? the one who went to the vet was still a little "out of it" when she came home. could that be the reason? we're supposed to go away this weekend, and i'm getting nervous about leaving them. also, the one who was at the vet can't have food til tomorrow, so i'm sure that will add to the tension.
any suggestions? thanks in advance!

thanks for the input! they're still hissing when they encounter each other today. luckily, they're pretty independent and like to spend time in different rooms. we have 2 litter boxes just in case the standoffs occur there.

I agree with aligator79. On occasion one of my 3 cats may get out and when I finally get them back in, the others hiss and even bat at that bad cat : ) The outdoors, like the Vets, has certain smells that linger for a while, Usually by the next day or 2, all is back to normal.
Good luck!

It's probably that the one that went to the vet smells different than she did before. They pick up smells of other animals.  Once the "vets" smell goes away, they should be back to normal.
