she seems to be able to see from both eyes, but am taking her to a Vet.. Don't have money for extensive tests, as long as she is eating, drinking and not in pain is best I can do.. just no $$ for thyroid testing, kidney failure.. she is 15 yrs old. and if she is in Pain, and can no longer enjoy life, I will Not let her suffer one hour. Hi, I totally agree that this could be a sign of high blood pressure.  My cat went through this during the spring.  One eye was the brownish red, which I was pretty sure was blood.  They took her blood pressure, and sure enough....it was high.  AND, it was blood in the eye, caused by ruptured vessels in the eye from the high BP.  Thankfully, it only affected one eye, and her vision is preserved in the other one.

Definitely get her into the vet to make sure she keeps the vision in the good eye.  They'll probably put her on meds to reduce the BP and run some tests to find out the reason her BP is so high.  I agree w/Opus that it could be due to kidney disease, hyperthyroid disease, and it could also be due to heart disease.

Best wishes to you and your kitty!

hi welcome to the cat forum, I hope we can be of some help.
first of all I will tell you this is a very good sign of high blood pressure....and a high bp is usually caused by hypothyroidism(HyperT) or chronic renal failure(CRF).
I had a cat dx'd with this at about the same age....the Vets treated his eye with anitbiotic drops for a few weeks before a proper diagnosis was made and by that time it was too LATE to save his eye which led to removal of the eye.

PLEASE take kitty to a Vet immediately and make very sure they take his blood pressure and also test for HyperT. and Kidney values.
all can be treated if caught early enough.

best of luck to you both and please keep us posted.
