April,
I know what you are saying about the odor. I also try to bathe my cats when I take them to the vet. But with Abby...they have been giving him baths so I don't worry about it.
I'm so happy the stitches are out already. Cats have an amazing ability to heal. It's great! I have been thinking so much about Misha, and you, lately. I was talking to BP last night and we talked about you. You and Misha, and your family are always in my mind :)
Misha is the only one I can bathe. She's not real thrilled but doesn't fight me on it. I don't do it too often, maybe once or twice a year. Usually cats are pretty good at keeping themselves clean.
I tried to bathe Sakura once when she was an older kitten and had a wild cat on my hands! I wound up with torn up arms for that attempt. I never tried it again with her.
I had to give Misha a bath. She smelled bad when she came home from the vet and I realized that she had thrown up in her cat carrier and had gotten some on her. Sorry to be so graphic. For some reason she always throws up after I take her to the vet. Must be nerves or something. Anyway, she smells so much better now! Lol.
Glad to hear Misha is doing so well. Gosh, I feel guilty, I never bathe my cats. Maybe that's why my husband is always on me for letting them in the house. lol But they don't stink, really they don't!. I've tried to get hold of PK for the last 2 days to no avail. Hopefully she's ok, she hadn't been feeling well. Whoever hears from her, let us know she's ok. We've all been doing enough worrying lately. I feel like the next decade will be great, because for me, it couldn't be any worse than the last. In hopeful anticipation, Linda
That's great to hear, April!! I'm happy to hear Misha is back to feeling herself. Misha is SO pretty and cute! :)
You know, I've never attempted to give a cat a bath...oh wait a minute, yes we did. We had a crazy calico kitty named Rainbow back in the 80's and tried giving her a bath once...it did not go well if I recall correctly.
Misha is doing awesome! She just had her stitches out yesterday, yea! The vet said the incision looked good. Better yet, she was finally able to take that stupid collar off! I brought her home and gave her a bath and she looks and smells so much better! She's eating well, purring and acting very content. Thanks ladies! :)
I too was wondering about Abby and how he's doing. We haven't heard anything lately. PrettyKitty? How's our Abby boy doing?
How is Misha and Abby?? We need updates ladies.........sara
Hi April, I'm sorry I didn't see this post sooner!! = ( I am sorry to hear that it was cancer, but very happy that it was small and your vet was able to get all of it and spare her leg!! That is truly a blessing and I will also be hoping for the best for your sweet Misha!
Take care, hon!!
Sorry to hear the cancer dx, but Great to hear they got it all!! I know all about "clean margins" and it sounds like Misha has many more healthy years ahead of her!
Sounds like the surgery successfully removed the cancer. That is really good news.
We all will keep praying for the thing will be definively over.
A happy new year for you, family and Misha
oh darnit anyway, I was sure hoping that it wasn't CA!!
poor Misha...but yes at least you have the comfort of a good prognosis. All the best to you both for what you have been through, poor Misha will be so darn happy to get that old collar off finally.
bless you both.
So glad to hear they got it all!!! sara
Just got to get the stitches out on Thursday, then she can finally lose the stupid collar! She will be soooo happy! :)
That is such good news. She is one lucky kitty!
No, they feel the surgery got it all and that no follow up is needed. It was well contained and had good margins around it. They do feel they got it all and that she doesn't need chemo or radiation.
April, sorry to hear of the diagnosis on Misha but so glad the prognosis sounds good, |Will she have to have any kind of follow-up treatment? Best to you both, Linda
Thanks for getting back to us with the report. I cannot believe it really was cancer. She is such a healthy girl! I guess cancer is very unpredictable. I am so glad they got it all out. Now it is just a matter of monitoring just in case another one forms. Did they tell you what the possibilities were of having a mass form again? I hope this is over. Honest to God, April.
Misha is so, so lucky.........you guys were sk proactive on this. It's unbelievable!
Very happy for you both, my friend. Very happy.
