I got the first shot verorab . My doc said the WHO guideline is to get vaccinated even if there is no blood present from the scratch, so he encouraged me to go for it .my risk was low so he didn't suggest immunoglobulin.

Do you mean you got the first shot in the series?  Or did you get some other kind of vaccination?

Hi freefalcon77,

If you're worried, perhaps you should make an appointment with your
family doctor and have your doctor take a look at the red spot.
I'm a bit of a worrier myself so I understand your concern. Were you
wearing sandals when this happened as you say you felt a nail on
your toe.  Just wondering.  Eve

Hi Free,
Rabies is spread with the Saliva of the suspected animal. Since you had no open lesion at the site or broken skin from a bite, I would agree with Eve.  A scratch carries no saliva so you are in the clear.

I'm with Eve on the flashlight!

Hello there,

Don't know if you're at risk of rabies, but may I suggest you carry a
flashlight when you're climbing the stairs of your apartment and it's
really dark. If no skin was broken, I doubt you're at risk of rabies.
