Oh I remember I had a set like that when I was a kid....u had to actually turn the channel...then the first remote had a wire attached to the set, so no one could walk in front with out tripping , as the wire was not all that long...lol... u were better off getting up and changing the dang thing...lol..
To show u sentimental,.....I wanted to keep our black and white TV we had in the kitchen as that is what I was use to, we would go across the street to a friends to see color TV....it hurt my eyes, wonder if that was the chiari talking to me then....hmmmm
Neway I prefer black and white and when that set died I was upset, the last of an era for me...
My Friday is being spent on my wonderful and hard working hubby. Today is his 45th Birthday. I took the kids shopping yesterday for his gifts since we were already in town for my Dr. appt. Nothing overly special, but little things he has been requesting. Time to wrap gifts and make cake. Looking to make a Tres Leche cake for him as he fell in love with it a few years ago while celebrating his birthday in Mexico.
His only concern today...getting his arms around our oldest DD when she gets home today from her trip today. It was an emotionaly hard one, and daddy just wants to hold her and make her tears go away.
BEST husband I could have ever asked for!!!!
Selma, hope you find a good replacement! I remember being upset when my G-parents died, we all had grown up sitting around watching it. It had the old turn knob....which we had to be careful with - if G-pa heard us truning it too fast we got "The Look"! Weird how sentimental I get over stuff!
Hi all well this week I will fibble about my TV in the living room, we have had it a good long time almost 20 yrs...my DD was in 5th grade and I know we had it...well it died today, not sure it is fixable so no TV for a while....
Does neone else have a TV that long, really that is long now a days for something electronic to last...we have had 3 dishwashers and not sure how may wash machines and dryers over the yrs not to mention stoves, but this one old TV kept plugging away....aww...
It is always something...right?...OMG....I am sure it was an accident , right?lol...
repairs r never a fun project, but u still get a sense of accomplishment...and that is good, plus the item is usable again,2fold...yea
So how r u feeling?
I was having fun gardening too before surgery :) That is until my sister accidentally hit me in the face with the shovel (full size) and I now have a black eye to go with everything else.. you just have to laugh some days! I have a table full of sewing repairs to be my next project but that is never much fun!!!
Hi All....what projects r u all up to,...by the inactivity it seems u r spending more time outdoors....????
