I actually saw a special on how the aromas and chemicals in the air actually r medicinal and can help asthmatics and the like...they said to feel better take a walk in the woods....lol...I always knew it helped me...never knew y...and I have a pine tree in my backyard.... : )
I agree selma, nothing like fresh air and good scenic surroundings to help you to relax..
Ray
yeah ..we want to come too...it is the best way to relax in my book : P
Can we join you Carolyn, sounds cool. Enjoy lol.
Ray
Enjoy camping this weekend Carolyn !!
it is sad : *(
But she is looking into buying a new liner...the pool is huge...4 ft deep.....so I get totally wet going in...lol.....
Wow...u camp for 1/2 the summer the longest DD and I got to go was 2 weeks....most of the time is was one week out of the summer, but what a week : )
I love camping <3
Oh Selma that's too bad...totally something I would do though...good thing I don't have a pool right now!! I used to have a kids one but they don't like it anymore b/c it doesn't go past their knees!! I decided why bother with all the maintenance where we aren't even here for half the summer? So I plan to spend the summer lakeside if possible...I'll have to get a laptop b4 then...or go through withdraw...lol..
WOW...2 great ideas....
my sister has a swing and when I am at her place that is where I am, unless it is hot, then I am in the pool....
I love the visual imagery too...I like to picture myself at a vacation spot I really liked and imagine I am back....very relaxing : )
Tiger Balm rub soothed me when I was kickboxing twice weekly. Now the patches work wonders on my aching body. They are a bit more expensive than some rubs but TOTALLY worth it.

Also, I use visual imagery to take myself to someplace else. Close my eyes and tell myself, You are on a mountaintop, breathing in the air, the smell is a yellow tulip…it takes my mind off the pain and sometimes I FEEL like I am truly there.
Also, if the pain is somewhere specific I imagine that I am in a rocket. I blast myself to that certain part of my body and imagine the size of the pain like a ball. I chip away at it until it is very small and imagine it blowing into a thousand pieces and coming out of my body through my pores. Might seem a little new age, but it works for me.
I have an outdoor swing ( the ones with a canopy). Go lay down on it outside and let the breeze sway you
I want to find a few other methods too.....did I tell u , my sister was cutting her grass and the mower went over a dog bone and sent it flying thru the side of her pool...and the liner!!!
I just pray that the pool gets fixed b4 it gets too hot
Well like I said on Wednesday's thread....we should all try some pool therapy.... :)
I hope we have some new ideas this week....I could really use one.....
posting for all our friends in a diff time zone......
well a week has past and I still did not get a chance to start my tape...I need a cable to connect my VCR to my TV...lol.....dang new DVD players......my old VCR was shoved aside and I need it for my tapes...lol...figures...I am going to work on DH for that cable......
I have a deep breathing tape I want to start once I am done with my project.,..and then I will share how it works...I used to do one that is a bit more involved than this one, but it got to a point I could no longer do it...so I got this one hoping I can build up to the more involved one.
AWWW really? I'm sorry that's so frustrating!! With Hashi's I hear a lot of the weight gain is actually just bloating so take heart it may go down again. That is why I have a strict no scale rule!! My DH did comment that he thought I lost weight today...and he treads lightly on that topice!!
Well the only way I found to relax was to go to bed and have a nap, it worked but isn't very productive!!! I think maybe I need to try deep breathing or something!!
lol....so, did u find something that worked?.....I got on the scale...big mistake...it says I gained !!! yikes! : 0
so I really need something too...and something I can do to lose this darn weight.....
LOL ok someone lay it on me...I need something to relax!!!!
looking for new techniques this week....???
U r welcome...since it said HA's and lower back...I thought wow we all can use that...plus it seems like a similar idea to that infomercial that u put ur legs on....I am using the sofa and slowly building toward the wall....lol....hamstrings r way too tight.... ouch....
Just watched it..totally going to try it today and I'll get back to you!! I wonder if it will help with those lower back spasms??
If I do it..do I get to look as good as her? LOL
Thanks for posting this Selma!!
