The effects of extreme stress on Chiari?

Not a pleasant question, but I'm curious how 'extreme stress' in life has affected you?

I'm looking more for what symptoms you may feel physiologically.

TIA
CW

I had several weeks of biofeedback--I'm not sure how successful it was; I'm rather high strung, and that's very difficult to change after a lifetime of it.  It required more work than I was willing to give it at the time.  One thing I still do though, is imagine a cherry in my mouth to relax my jaw.  (I also grind my teeth).
You could imagine whatever else tastes good to you.

Interestingly, my body was MORE relaxed when my mind was engaged with mental arithmetic problems than with my mind just wandering.

I was told that Chronic pain can cause stress and stress can cause pain- it can be a viscous cycle. I have headaches, back pain, head pressure, vision disturbances, and so on...
I am seeing a professional to try relaxation training utilizing biofeedback and possibly self hypnosis to cope with pain.  It won't take away the pain but hopefully will help "distract".
Has anyone else tried this?  If so, how did it work for you?

Hi, I'm post-op now, but I can tell you that extreme emotions (stress, laughing too hard, crying, being really mad, etc.) made all of my symptoms far worse...especially the HAs.  I have double vision close up, and I'm waiting to see (no pun intended!) if that eventually goes away.  I also have hearing loss and ringing in my left ear...so far, no change in that; although, it's only been 2 weeks.  The "low rumble" in my right ear went away immediately after surgery, so, I'm hopeful that bodes something good for the left as well.  Hope this sheds some light on the info you were looking for....

Oh deff there is an increase in symptoms with stressful situations, and this is y we have to try and avoid them if at all possible, but as u know, not all stressful situations can be avoided.

But my HA's were always worse with stress....and my eyesight.....and my complaint is the focusing, they just can';;t seem to find the right place to be so I can see things clearly, even with glasses.
