I work in a drug treatment center, so I'm only familiar with it in that context...haven't seen it used for pain mgmt, but I know it's used that way. When I decided to go off all pain meds last year I had to do it very slowly to avoid feeling terrible. I also took a blood pressure medication to help with symptoms of going off of pain meds. In the end it was a good choice for me. I had an increase in pain for about two months, then it was back to my baseline. Just like the pain mgmt clinic told me, the pain was the same off and on pain meds in the long run. Apparently your body adapts to long term pain meds and they don't do much after a while. Good luck!
Lol I spelled it wrong. I knew I did. Are you familiar with this drug, I'm always cautous of taking new drugs, but want to get off meds period so this is a start.
Buprenorphine is like methadone -- most commonly used to treat opiod addiction, but also used in small doses for pain management. It's a synthetic opiod.
