up to me to get kids off to school....

Only 2 wks post op and gettin kids up and off to school. Fiances alarm goes off from 4:15am til almost 5, then by 5:45am I'm up gettin stuff ready with kids. Sure do wish I had someone to do all this for me. Thankfully my mom drops em at bus for now, but I know it wont last. Ugh. Just don't feel up to any of this yet. Now that schools in, I will be home all alone. I just never get a proper recovery. Story of my life....

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I was on my own, with little children WAY to early, about 2 weeks. It still is hard. Thank goodness I am doing well, otherwise is would be worse. Something I have done to help with morning routine is I got a plastic organizing crate for all 3 of mine and tthe night before I put their uniforms, pants, shirts, undershirts, belts, socks, and shoes in their bucket, so they just have to go to their bucket ....no hunting involved. I bought easy things for the mornoing like pop tarts and cereal that they can do themselves and I dont really have to get up until it is time to bring them. I just sit in my recliner and over see. Not sure if this helps, and I pray you start getting the help you need. Are you resting often? I wish you were closer, I would come and pick up your boys and deliver them to school as long as you needed. All mine are in school so I could come back and help with the chores and dogs. All my best to you sweetie., It breaks my heart that you dont have the help you need

My boys are 13 and 15. So they are old enough to do all on their own. Except get to bus stop for they go to dif schools. But I am alone all day. No one to come let my dogs out for me during the day. I can't do it for my pit weighs around 80 pds. So I can't even attempt that. Oh well I do as little as I can and wait for the rest to get done by someone else. I should have hired someone to help, lol, kinda hard with barely no income. Well I will make it as always. Just another day in the life of Dana hope everyones children havin good days at school and for us chiarians, hope everyone is well today

I cant remember the age of your little ones, so my thoughts may or may not apply...but I'll leave you with what helps me during bad spells, as I am alone in the am too!
I have them help do as much as possible the night before when there are more of them to chip in. Such as: laying out the ENTIRE outfit the night before, making lunches and packing them (they can grab the entree from the fridge in the am and throw it in).  I even have them get there after school snack ready so its waiting for them when they get home. Everything gets packed into the back pack before bedtime and placed by the door...with there shoes.  For those that can, we even have them take showers at night so we dont get of schedule there...I have one that gets in and never gets out- so we can get behind schedule there!  As for the wake up routine, I plant myself in the middle of the house that way I can "direct" from all directions.  I have used timers and allowed them to" beat there personal time" at accomplishing a task. I mostly sit and do a vocal check list. My husband set up a dry erase board that allows us to put a "check" systom for them to go thru and see the steps in order that they will need to do before the bus comes.  We are blessed in that the bus stop is in front of our house, so even if I cant make it outside I can sit in the window and keep watch.
There are days that this works perfectly, then there are days that I am in so much pain that when I see that yellow bus I feel a huge amount of relief that its over for the day and we made it.  I always allow extra time for mishaps, but for the most part this has been a huge help for me!  Rest Rest Rest as soon as they leave that door so you'll have enough energy to ask them about their day when they return to you and grab that snack waiting for them!

Sorry to hear you don't have extra  help!  It is always a toss up if help is good or annoying :)  Being alone just usually means I do things I should not!  Make sure you behave!  Hopefully you can get the kids off to school and get some more rest!  No matter how much I plan for recovery it never works out to be easy to do!!!!!!  I know each time I think "maybe this time" but NO, it never ends up being easy to sit down and recover and there are always one million things that need to be done!  Take care of yourself and try to take it slow!
