Hepl my 3 year old peeing and pooping

First off I didn't know whether to post this under behavior or normal!! My son will do great sometimes but mostly seems to not care if he pees and/or poops in his underwear!! I'm washing pissy sheets and pissy/poopy clothes almost everyday!! We did the reward thing..didn't work, did the dancing and singing thing...didn't work, did the target (cherrios) floating in toilet ..didn't work. We have talk with him(repeativly),done the timeouts, has had him clean up after hisself. Like this morning..he peed in the tiolet after getting up, but less then thirty minutes later I find him playing with his toys in a pair of underwear full of poop and wet with pee!!! Sitting there playing!!!
Am I doing something wrong?..Is there something wrong with him? Or is this normal? I don't like to lose my cool but AAARRRHHHH!!!

My son got potty trained with urine at about age 3.5 but even up to about age five he still had accidents, it is finally getting to be rare at 5.5 for him not to have some urine in his pants .

As for the bm, it took till about 4.5 to get consistent about going in the toilet.  I cleaned up a lot of dirty underwears.

He still wets the bed now.  But I am really happy about the bm's in the toilet!!

My pediatrician never seemed concenred about this and said boys just take longer.

Have you thought that maybe he is just not ready yet? One of the first signs of being ready for potty training is not liking soiled diapers/clothes. The average age for a boy to be potty trained is 3 1/2, with a wide variation on either side of that number.

While I always think ruling out anything medical first, I don't think that is his problem. This is only my opinion, but I would leave it alone for awhile. It seems that it is only adding more stress to you and probably your son. Give it a few weeks or a month and try it again. He is still young and will get the idea, but only when he is ready. Good luck.
