Boy playing with girl toys and stuff

My 4 year son was interested in the Disney princesses as aged 2.He wanted to have them all, so we partially bought them all. He played with a lot of toys, but his best ones were the princesses. He prefers girls to play with more than boys, and recently has several episodes of dressing up like a girl and started to insist on playing with girls in the neighbourhood. I know that the child is at age when he needs to explore, but we decided to have a proffesional consultation sometime in September.
meanwhile, I try not to be hars on him about this and try to initiate as much as possible mutual gaming with him. He is adorable but stuburn child (like me and his mom) and he is very into something when he plans to do it, so making him give up is never an option. Any advises? Help, I am a doctor but for child psycholoogy I am very ignorant.

We also get Posts that have girls wanting to play with Guy stuff I think it passes and is a phase, perhaps he mixes with girls more ,are there more in your Family and Grans and Aunts etcDo you watch Female stuff on TV you know the Flick Chick stuff. and lets face it Girls are lovely to be around. How about you play some sports with him whatever his preferance is, he'll want to play Ball or swing a bat or throw a Hoop. and of course a professional  consultation cant hurt, it may reassure you .Dont be hard on him lots of attention from his Dad is called for here.

How can you make him give up what is in his nature? I don't think you can. It may be that he will grow out of this but if he doesn't you will still love him just as much. As you say, he is adorable and he is your child. You are doing all the right things as parents and as long as you continue to be supportve of his interests he will grow up to be just fine.
